PLI Ministry Moments – June/July 2019

PLI Ministry Moments

As we prepare for our vacation I am excited and looking forward to some much needed rest. I am however considering how to continue my journey of reaching others for Christ. Just because I am on vacation doesn’t mean I should abandon everything I have learned and that I am learning in and with PLI and our Missional Community. On the contrary this is the perfect time to practice sharing what God has done in our lives and what He has done for us.

We have been blessed to be able to go on vacation that is a gift from God. Sure we saved, and put aside money to take a trip (no we are not telling anyone where we are going yet). But it is God who has provided the ability to earn the funds and save up to be able to afford to go. Now what are we going to do with that gift? I don’t want to waste this time of meeting new people, seeing new places selfishly. I want to talk with people, share the fact that I am blessed beyond expectations. I want to share that I can take that deep breath and know that God is with me every step of the way that He has provided care for those we love and care about and are leaving at home for this short time.

He will take care of everything; I can tuck all those concerns away, knowing He will care for everything and everyone according to His good and perfect will. Someone will care for the house and dogs, we will pay all of our bills and Dad’s before we leave. Dad has amazing care givers and he will be taken care of while we are away. We are blessed to know that on the 30th of June the members we love and care for will be worshiping with our friends at Hope and they will enjoy some amazing fellowship and food with friends. On the 7th of July we rest in the assurance that Pastor Mohr will be at both congregations leading the worship. The bulletins are done and in place, so we don’t need to worry about that. We are also blessed to have Pastor Aldrich fill in for Pastor if there is an emergency, all the members need to do is call Zion and know they will be cared for. What a blessing to ask God to provide for those we are leaving behind for this short time and know He has already answered those prayers.

So what will we do with all that time? Not worry, trust that God has taken care of everything and then share who we are with each other and those we meet along the way. What a joy! We don’t need to worry if those we meet will accept what we have to offer, we trust that the Holy Spirit will go before us and will be with those people after we leave. We just need to share God’s never-ending love with those we meet.  Rejoice with us as we embark on this adventure for the Lord and for us. Praise God that He has provided this time for us and those we will meet. Thank you for your love and prayers that is truly one of the most precious gifts you give.

In HIS service,

Debbie
