Hebrew 13: 5-6 ” Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you”. So we say with confidence, “the Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”
This is one of my favorite Bible verses. I use it often when I am feeling discouraged or worried. God doesn’t want us to worry about things, He wants us to trust Him for all our needs.
There are however, times when I look at things and it all seems so overwhelming. Not enough time in a day to do things, not enough money to stretch for the “extra” expenses like a broken water line, or the fuel pump goes out and then the tire goes flat, and when do we find the time to get things done. There aren’t enough days in the weekor hours in the day to get it all done. I am overwhelmed! I’m frustrated! I’m afraid! I’m discouraged. That’s when I turn to the portion of the verse that says. “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you”.
That is God’s promise to me and to you. He will get us through every crisis in our lives. He is there walking with us, walking in front of us, walking beside and in back of us. He knows our needs, He knows our desires and He will give us exactly what we need, when we need it.
What good does it do to worry about something He has already taken care of? It makes us anxious, discouraged and frightened. At times it even makes us short with those we love. That hurts them and us. I am guilty of this and I need to remind myself, that He is always there to support and love me, to give me what I need.
My prayer for you is that you will commit this to your hear and know that by telling us this, God has everything worked out for you and for me.
“I will never leave you or forsake you”. He is as good as His word.
